A THANKFUL HEART

Hello dear ones,its the second week of January2017,am glad the lord has brought us this far.It makes me glad of the promises and  blessings packaged for me this year.Im sure you are as well expectant of what the lord has kept in store for you.My prayer is that you will find grace to wait patiently for him.

As the year unveils,with what attitude are you approaching things?Do you have a thankful heart?Are you the type that will never appreciate for anything but  find fault in everything?Can we classify you in the group of complainers?My boss used to tell us that 'complainers die in the wilderness'!they never get to the promised land(refer to the story of  the 12 spies in numbers 14)I pray that you will change or else you die in the wilderness.

There are so many things that we tend to take for granted either knowingly or unknowingly.The fact that we have God in our lives is enough to be grateful.If the heavens can afford to declare the glory of God;the skies proclaim the work of his hands,day after day they  pour forth speech of how awesome God is..(psalm 19)How about us who experience immense grace and unfailing mercies everyday?

Allow me to give you  a very short story of my life.

I happen to go to church which is quite a distance from where i live.Every sunday i pass via a hospital reserved for patients with psychiatric disorders.One sunday as i was walking past the wards,a gentleman called on me'madam,uko smart sana,ndio kuenda church.....uniombee'.These words shocked me,Remember this is a patient but how he knew i was going to church...even to date i cant tell.It was a very humbling experience for me.I appreciated him for the compliments but the lord used him to minister to my heart.

How many times do we take our sanity for granted?The fact that you are in your right mind,you can make sober decisions,concentrate and comprehend on issues!When was the last time you gave genuine thanks to God for being whole?Think of those people who roam the streets,feed on waste and at times walk naked...only left at the mercies of well wishers.What did you do to deserve a sober  living?

Im always reminded that these people are someones mum,dad,brother or sister..husband and even wife!whether they are naked or not,their loved ones see them as close relatives..Purpose to give God thanks for sanity.

Ever thought of your childhood friends and reflect on their lives?im sure many of them are far beyond you but well,there others who have even lost hope in life.Theres a percentage who never managed to go to highschool perhaps due to fees challenges whereas others passed with very good grades from highschool but didnt have the opportunity to join institutions of higher learning.You were priviledged to have the opportunity of getting education but you still take that for granted.It really makes sense to me that  the fact that you can sit in a classroom and listen to a lecturer,sit for exams and pass takes nothing but the power and grace of God.its purely Grace and no one can convince me otherwise.In 2017,take time to thank God for bringing you this far academically.

We have just ended the festive seasons where people make merry,marry as well as get married.When was the last time you seriously thanked God for your spouse?A friend of mine tells me that it takes the heavens intervention for you to make a proposal to awoman and later get a yes for an answer!Majority or quite a percentage of your friends are still single yet to you,being married or to marry is business as usual.The bible says that whoever gets a wife gets a good thing and obtains favor from the lord.Ladies,do you know what it means to have you as favor in someones life?yet,you cant find anything to thank God for.

psalms 127;3sons are a heritage from the Lord,children a reward from him.Many families enjoy the blessing and the joy of having their own flesh and blood.A friend of mine tells me that a child changes everything in a persons life(no experience on that).Can you remember the last time you went to the altar to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving for the gift of a child?How many people went to that labour ward and came out with baby showls alone...just because their child was born prematurely or perhaps died due to some medical problems at birth.Have you ever thought of how it feels for a couple that perhaps wedded before you and till now,they havent received a fruit of their womb?Who else can understand the tears of a medical practitioner who works in the labour section assisting women deliver yet,they do not know what it means to carry a child for nine months?How about that pastor who all of us run to incase our kids are ailing and even for dedication services in church yet...much as they are men and women of God,they spend countless nights pleading with God to bless them with a child???/

Friends,let us learn to thank God,in all things and at all times.He that has found it worth for us to live in 2017,is faithful enough to fulfill our hearts desires.psalms 50;14-15..He only deserves a thanksgiving offering,then he will pave a way for you,to deliver you in times of trouble.Purpose to have a thankful heart..Find every reason to thank God this year and never take anything for granted.
