Finishing Strong

Its exactly three days to the close of this year,how great is our God!Finally 2018 has already packed its bags in readiness to exit.The sorrow,the pain,the worries,the snares,the anxiety,the troubles,the struggles,the frustrations and anything that caused us pain is finally exiting.We all have a reason to thank God for everything  that happened in our lives this year.It may seem ironic but the bible commands us to give thanks in everything as well as rejoice always.It doesnt specify on what occassion we should give thanks or rejoice.

Its been a great honor bestowed to us having lived the entire year.Looking back on where we've all come from,im sure all of us got a reason to thank God.We can all join Travis Greene in singing Narekelemo

It could be one or two,but either way,its prudent enough to thank God.

I personally feel humbled that you took time to read anything that i put down in this blog.Whether it benefited you or not,iam glad you spared time out of your busy schedule to pass by.Iam deeply honored that you found it worth sharing my thoughts to your friends and colleagues.I thank all of you who criticized me,it helps me grow.Those who checked on me when i failed to put something in a month or two,you have a special place in my heart..Those who keep on urging me to write a book,im sure that the expectations of the righteous shall never be cut off and that at the right time,the Lord God will make it happen.Glory to God for this gift...not unto me,but unto Him be all honor and adoration.(psalm 115;1)

You could be wishing that this year closes up real fast coz its been the most painful year youve ever experienced in the face of the earth,i may not undertsand your pain,all i know is that theres a God in heaven whose understanding no man can fathom,He alone knows your pain,He sees your tears and in due time,He who binds our wounds and heals the brokenhearted will come through for you.The bible says that the end of a matter is better than the begginning and that patience is better than pride(Eccle7;8)purpose to end this year with gratitude instead of grumbling.

Looking back at what has happened throughout this year,all of us owe the lord so much gratitude.Its the year whereby families were swept away by floods,accidents have killed people,all manner of things,BUT God found it fit to preserve you and me to this far.You ought to thank God.There are people who lost loved ones this year,someone lost their dad,their mum,their children,but this God ensured that you have your family intact,dont you think you have a reason to thank God?

It is the same year whereby  buildings were demolished,you may not have even been affected by the same whether they were on riparian land or what,you are intact by the grace of God. wherever you are much as you have rent arrears or even if you are yet to clear your morgage...betterstill you could be living at a friends house,by virtue of you being alive today,count it as a blessing.I may not be able to understand the loss that people have experienced this year all i know is that we should  thank God because He knows our  future and nothing that happens in our lives catches him by surprise.

Your children are in school and for a whole year you have managed to pay school fees,thank God.You could be having fees arrears,thank God because the God of the valleys is still God in the mountains.His mercies are new every morning,He has great things in store for you.His name is Jireh,He has a record of providing even when people least expect.Trust in Him.

You may have lost your job this year,your marriage,an investment,a treasure..Do not end the year in pain,choose to end the year strong.Purpose to finish strong.It doesn't matter how many of the 2018 resolutions have materialized,God is not controlled by the years calendar..His timing is always the best.Depend on Him and trust Him.

You could have made mistakes this year.The number one step is to admit that you were wrong,then forgive yourself.Learn from the mistake and forge forward.If you did things that made you suffer,perhaps because you never consulted God or probably because you were negligent,i pray that you find forgiveness from God and that you will purpose to depend on God.That you will sit at the feet of Jesus and heed to His instruction.That you will read the word of God which will light your paths(Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path  psalm 119;105).I pray that you will find solace in Christ alone because all other ground is sinking sand

Lastly,if theas nothing that you can quantify this year to make you happy,PURPOSE to be happy.Happiness is solely dependent on you.Let the joy of the lord be your strength.At least no one charged you for the air you've breathed this year..Thea's no one who brought a bill for the peace you've enjoyed...The freedom of movement or even expression,you were free to worship your God...some people crave for a moment with God in a church service but they cant..That is reason enough to thank God.You could  be  troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair(2nd cor 4;8).Choose to finish strong because God has your best interests at heart...Its true you havent met your expectations this year,but hang on,God will make everything beautiful in its time.
