RIZPAH

Goodmorning dear ones,
its been long since we met in this platform.Well,we all need a time of refreshing and reflecting lest you become irrelevant.

Life is full of mysteries. Many things happen and none of us will comprehend why or how.At times the process itself maybe so complicated, leaving all of us shocked and with so many unaswered questions.Today a child will die as young as six, courtesy of a careless motorcycle driver or even due to flu, some chock while sleeping whereas a eighty year old granny will be carried to go vote.Well, this doesnt mean that the eighty year old deserves to die, neither does it justify the demise of a six year old.All these issues leave us somehow confused and with no answers. No wonder the bible says that the secret things belong to God,but the things revealed belong to us and our children(deut 29;29).

The year is almost coming to an end and as human beings, each one of us has had their share of struggles, lightmoments, challenges, achievements,as well as learnt many new things that could have not be learnt in any other way other than the very way that you got to learn them.Well, many have probaly leaped what they sowed whereas others are in the sowing season. As a country,so much has happened. The campaign seasons made some of us very tired, the food prices going extremely high, and even the latest eye witness challenge...all thanks to being a Kenyan(Mkenya Mzalendo).

We are five weeks to the close of the year and in this piece,id like to address a group of people or one person who wishes that 2017 can just pack its bags and leave because really, its been a difficult season for them. Its an year theyd never even want to hear repeated in their ears because they have experienced pain.Excruciating pain that no one can even comprehend the intensity of what they have gone through.Allow me to address that woman who has been on and off hospital due to their child's illness. That husband who is at the verge of being auctioned because of the many accumulated loans he took to try see his business flourish but the results have been futile. That person who feels that they have carried the burden for their brothers and sisters and basically the entire family and nothing is coming forth. This young man with very nice academic papers but have never secured a job..My preety sister whos being trusting God for a life partner and the road seems so slipperly.Do not give up yet, your help can only be found in God..Do not throw in the towel,God is just a prayer away.

Allow me to take you through a journey in 2nd sam21;1- 14.(Read the whole script).Theres a lady by the name Rizpah..This woman is a replica of what resilience means.Rizpah paid the price for the people who belonged to Saul yet she was no where in the equation of the predicament that fell on these men.A time of vengeance had come for the Gibeonites to the house of Saul.Saul during his reign killed the Gibeonites against an agreement that was earlier on made between them.He betrayed these people and now it was their time to revenge.Seven men from sauls lineage had to be  killed and hanged.look at what Rizpah did,.(10 Rizpah daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it out for herself on a rock. From the beginning of the harvest till the rain poured down from the heavens on the bodies, she did not let the birds touch them by day or the wild animals by night)
This woman paid the price...Imagine someone staying up from the time of harvest till the rains began...day and night..Even in death, she never allowed her people to be taken for granted. This is roughly three months. She willingly paid the price.Vrs 14 says that when David heard what Rizpah had done,he ordered for a descent burial for these people.Later on through this very act,the Lord heeded to the prayer of the land.

Could be you are the Rizpah in your family but you are taking the role so casually?Yes its not easy,i know you have prayed in areas of prayer, advised people in areas of counsel, gone out of your way to take up some roles to just see that things fall in place and you feel so exhausted.Push more dear one...be a Rizpah and carry on..imagine keeping birds away during the day and beasts away during the night! You will be weary, there will be no strength in some days but look here, you have to carry on.

You have prayed, lived right, heeded to the fellowship of believers but still nothing is coming forth?Be a Rizpah....be resilient in your prayers, carry on in doing good.Do not give up holding fort in many areas of life even if no one seems to take note.Theres a God in heaven whose records can never be corrupted. His records are always clean..The bible says that after these people were given a descent burial,God heeded to the prayer of that land.Through your resilience, doors will open .Doors of people who never even took part in your sacrifice, lives will be transformed, people will believe in your God,people will allow God to reign in their lives and most importantly, the Lord will be glorified.

No matter how tough the season has been,no matter the pain, forget the humiliation...just press on...Remember the story of the persistent widow in (luke 18)?Im reminded of a man of God we all love..Elijah.This man had done great things which we learn from...but you know what,he was a resilient man.
(1st kings18;41-44)On Mt Carmel,he prayed for rain and nothing seemed to come forth..The bible records that he put his face between his legs and prayed...He would send his servernt to go look whether theres a sign and its only in the seventh time that the servant brought a report of a cloud as small as a mans hand rising out of the sea..Think of someone in that posture for seven times and in prayer!Dear one, dont give up yet...continue pursuing God and things will not only turn out for you,but for so many people all to the glory of God.

Will you be a Rizpah?
will you stand on the gap?
Will God find you faithful in whatever burden he has placed in you?

Amidst everything we go through, He still remains Faithful.

Jehovah sees, Jehovah knows, Jehovah understands and He has good plans for all of us.

we must persevere and never give up praying and trusting. and even when the storms come, they should never shipwreck our faith in God.

    Glory to God
