We Escaped like a Bird From the Fowler's Snare

If the lord had not been on our side,let Israel say,if the lord had not been on our side,when people attacked us,they would have swallowed us alive(psalm 124;1-2).Been reflecting on this verse and the lord has greatly ministered to me.Ever thought of the many times we take the blessings of God for granted?How about being ignorant of the grace that has been released over our lives?

For the past two weeks,ive been rewatching a certain documentary that aired on a national tv sometimes back  dubbed'children of a lesser god'.That story about the Garissa university massacre.Every time i would listen to the man who lost a daughter who happened to be the only hope of the family.The thought of the pain that the family went through is baffling.The sacrifice that parents are willing to offer to just ensure that their children get the best...but even in my empathy,im reminded that The lord reigns..in good or bad times,He still remains God,enthroned on high.It perplexes me at the thought of how one morning someone opts to go for devotions,just to seek the lord and command his/her day yet someone else is thinking on how to finish them!!!

During that season,there were many attacks in the country.A cloud of fear engulfed the whole country.People sought after men and women of God for prayer,people took prayer seriously,checking on relatives became a daily thing especially from those upcountry to us who live in town,Pastors and members of the clergy held prayer meetings for the nation of Kenya.People embraced brotherhood as well as vigilance in everything...only to trash that at the expense of campaigns!

As a nation,the lord has been gracious to us.Remember when other nations never wanted anything to do with us?how about when we trended as a'hotbed of..terrorism' and even those who had never heard of twitter went on to join the hashtag?The lord has done so much to us.Putting burdens of prayer even to international generals to just intercede for Kenya. I feel that Kenya is an apple of Gods eye and thats why hes fought so many battles for us.Granting us immense favor as well as  grace to carry on.By the virtue of you being a Kenyan,take a minute and thank God.

Its mid 2017,and yes,its an year of Divine Elevation.Have you sat down to reflect on the goodness of the lord?So much has happened but you know what,the lord has preserved you this far.You could be going through  a tough season in life,perhaps 2017 has not been any good to you but i dare you to lift a thanksgiving sacrifice to God.(Habakkuk 3;17)17Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls, 18Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.

There have been tough economic times whereby companies are retrenching,businesses are not doing so well and basically the cost of living has gotten too high.You may be looking for a job and nothing is forthcoming,trying business and frustration has taken a toll on you..nothing seems to work for you...hold that thought my dear..Able to pay rent irrespective of how much and in what estate?Never slept hungry irrespective of the menu?never walked naked?in good health?You got a reason to thank God.

There are people in school and the lord has seen to it that you smoothly learn without fees challenges..and even if there were,you never deffer ed...better still much as you deffer ed,you are almost graduating now.Ever thought of how many people have closed that chapter of studying due to challenges that overwhelmed them?If the lord had not been on your side my dear......

In a relationship and all is well?Got to thank God.millions of singles frequent prayer centres,trusting God for a bone of their bones,better still,another percentage looking for treatment..depression of a failed relationship is slowly eating them.Others have already given up in life.They cant comprehend how no one seems to even notice of their existence in matters love.Enjoying love?Thank God.if the lord had not been on your side!........

In marriage and all things are working?Thank God.Did you know that people are struggling to make ends meet yet they are more faithful to God than you are?Your kids are well and healthy,in school and enjoying every bit of life?Thank God.Many couples are trusting God for a fruit of their womb,yet you having kids is just as usual..no big deal...huh,thats a lie from hell.Many mothers been conceiving but due to some issues,they have never carried a pregnancy to term..Thank God you  have a child .Read a story of a couple who have experienced a number of miscarriages to a point of fearing intimacy.The thought of conceiving and losing again is just heartbreaking to them!My friend,count your blessings..name them one by one...if the lord had not been on your side!,,,,,,,,

Employed or running a business and though not pretty okay,the lord has sustained you?Give thanks.

There are people with better papers than you,great business and investment ideas yet struggling in life.With the little you have,lift the banner of Jesus high,The lord who opened that door for you and sustained it thus far is faithful,able to do exceedingly,abundantly above what you could ask or even imagine.It has taken the lords mercies and grace for you to be that far.If the lord had not been on your side!......

We have every reason to thank God,For the past five months in 2017,He has been on our side,He ensured that the waters didn't overwhelm us,the streams never went over our souls.Our souls escaped as a bird out of the fowlers snare;the snare is broken,and we have escaped!Our help is in the name of the lord,who made heaven and earth.
